Wyvern announces the launch of EXACT, a safety assessment program for Remotely Piloted Aerial Systems (RPAS) benchmarked from ICAO Document 10019. EXACT, an acronym for Excellence through Assessment, Consistency, and Training, is a certification process for RPAS operators who uphold rigorous safety standards and adhere to industry best practices. In addition, EXACT is a certification program for accrediting assessors, and will also provide a preferred vendor network of commercial RPAS operators for Wyvern clientele which will be available to vet through proprietary safety intelligence tools.
EXACT was developed in response to the growing Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) market in which technology has outpaced the implementation of regulatory guidance across the globe. This optional commercial program can also be used as a tool for U.S. commercial operators to achieve FAA 333 exemption and to also promote commitment to a safety and quality management program in compliance with industry guidelines. EXACT takes many of the processes which have become the focus of safety management for manned aircraft but recognizes and tailors to the unique challenges of unmanned operations. The EXACT standards and recommended practices were developed by a team of industry experts to exceed regulatory guidelines and also cover safety items specific to RPAS operations. These include technical performance factors in operations from remote pilot stations, data link command and control, support equipment and infrastructure, and payload management – among several other assessment areas.
While Wyvern has been a leader in aviation safety for over 20 years, this will be the first application of their globally recognized safety assessment model outside of the business aviation industry. With the EXACT program, Wyvern continues its global reputation as the leader in advanced aviation safety.
